Blake started his diving life on a intro dive in Maui, Hawaii.
That euphoric experience forever changed him.
He became certified in 1983, Salem Scuba's 1st year in business. He dove in Cancun, Maui, and off cruise ships until he became a Divemaster in December 1986.
In 1987 he became a part time employee at Salem Scuba and then in 1988, he became a full time employee, Head Instructor, and started the dive travel program.
On February 5, 1990, he purchased sole ownership of Salem Scuba. Since that time he has taken the business to become one of the top dive stores in the Pacific Northwest, with one of the top dive travel programs in the nation! (Salem Scuba has brought record # of divers & snorkelers ever to resorts in Fiji, Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Roatan & a record 72 in St. Lucia in April 2016!)
His diving experience now includes well over 1,600+ dives (including over 70+ Salem Scuba group trips) to Fiji, Maui, Cozumel, St. Lucia (Anse Chastanet & Jade Mt.) Grand Cayman, Turks and Caicos, Tonga, Central Florida fresh water/manatees, Disney's Epcot Aquarium x 2, Belize, Canada, Bahamas, Roatan Honduras, Kona Hawaii, several live aboard boats, and many various local dives in Hoodsport, Seattle & many in Oregon.
He is also the 1st person to ever dive in the Salvation Army / Kroc Center pool :)
Blake retired from active personal scuba instruction on Dec. 31, 2016.
Outside of diving, Blake enjoys going to the movies, travel, waterparks, fine dining, Las Vegas, Maui with family, attending Peoples church most Sundays, amuesment parks, Disney Land/World & Discovery Cove and the Oregon coast.
