PADI IDC PREP DAY
Build a confident foundation for the PADI IDC!
The PADI IDC Prep Day, is a one-day program that will demystify your upcoming PADI IDC. Experiencing it will give you confidence; knowing that you’re prepared, that you’ve done what’s needed, and that you’re set up for success for the IDC. Dea Thayer, Salem Scuba owner and PADI Master Instructor, will highlight topics that were covered in your prior training to ‘get the rust off’ and ease the transition into your next phase of professional development. This is the opportunity to start working with the Pro Training Team in a no-pressure setting. Dea completed his IDC with our PADI, Gold-Level, Course Director, Bruce Weitzenhoffer, several years ago. Since then, he has actively participated in numerous PADI IDCs. You can expect him to share his experiences going through the IDC. You can look forward to him being part of your Training Team, and he will help you to manage your expectations of the process.

DESCRIPTION:
Are you about to start your IDC? Are you a bit unsure if you’re ready?
- Do you want a no-pressure refresher of demonstration quality of your twenty-four skills?
- Do you want a run-through of how to confidently navigate the PADI materials?
- Do you want to regain the confidence in Dive Theory that you had when you completed your divemaster course – especially Physics and the RDP?
Join Salem Scuba, as Dea prepares you with foundational knowledge to help avoid some of the stumbling blocks during the IDC. This relatively new addition to our IDC curriculum has proven beneficial to reducing stress and increasing confidence in the IDC.
During the Confined Water session, Dea will provide role-model demonstrations of some of the more challenging skills. Also, he will work with you to review your equipment to verify that all is in working order and is configured for your success as an IDC candidate, as well as once you become a PADCI OWSI.
During the Classroom session, Dea will provide an overview of the various PADI materials and resources. He will demonstrate how to navigate the PADI Instructor Manual and the Guide to Teaching, as well as the PADI eLearning platform. AND, he will go through some Dive Theory questions – giving special focus to the Physics and RDP / eRDPml.
