The Salem Scuba, PADI Assistant Instructor (AI) Course marks a transitional step in the journey of professional dive educators; bridging the gap between Divemaster and Open Water Scuba Instructor. This comprehensive program is designed to give you the tools to take on a more substantial educational leadership role in diver education, as a credentialed PADI Assistant Instructor. You learn to teach in the Confined Water, Open Water, and Classroom. Once you are a PADI Assistant Instructor, you can teach certain PADI programs independently, and assist Instructors in conducting a wide range of PADI Courses.

If you’re uncertain about a full commitment to the role of Instructor, then this is an excellent midpoint. If you choose to create your path to become a PADI Instructor in incremental steps; this is that first step. When you’re ready, you’ll already have met the requirement to transition to complete the PADI OWSI portion of the PADI IDC / IE.
