Blackbeards 2022 Recap

Blackbeards 2022 Recap

I’ve been leading trips to the Bahamas aboard the Blackbeards cruises for the last 10 years. I come from a family with 30+ trips under our belts, and grew up knowing I wanted to do this trip yearly, for life. It’s not for everyone- it’s basically camping at sea- with a bunk, not a cabin. You’ve got dinner, but not a menu. But it’s a social boat, where you live at sea with 20 of your new best friends for a week, sailing around tropical paradise, hanging out, and having some amazing dives and adventures. This year we did two trips back to back with two separate groups- week one had some rough weather, and some covid excitement, so we ended up doing mostly shallow/macro dives, on stunning coral reefs. We also got more land excursions than we normally do, and enjoyed Rachels bubble bath, and the swimming pigs of the Bahamas! Week two the weather opened up and we got the full slate of dives and variety that we’re used to. Our crew, as always, was amazing, and we’re so thankful for the staff of Blackbeards who put on an amazing week every time we go. Some photo’s are below, or the full download can be found HERE

We had the trip of a lifetime, just like every time we go. Next years trip is already in the works, and 2024 we’re doing a surprise different destination for the Jim friends trip- but I’m so thankful for Salem Scuba supporting this trip, and all the fun people and memories we get to have every year!
