Have you ever been out on a dive, following a Dive Master through the twists and turns of a dive site, then at the end, they somehow have you back at the same spot where you started? Ever thought to yourself, “Wow, how did they do that?” Well, the simple answer is practice and training! Most of them have taken the PADI specialty course for “Underwater Navigation” and then they practice what they have learned.
There is no better feeling than going out on a dive and feeling confident that you can make it back to your exit point, whether it is a boat or a specific spot on shore. Having the confidence in yourself, and in this skill, will not only help to conserve energy and air, but will also reduce your stress and allow you to explore your site confidently while enjoying your dive.
If you want to have a great time while practicing your navigation skills, come join us at Les Davis Marine Park in Tacoma, Washington on February 26th. We will be putting together a navigation course for you to follow, and who knows, you might even find some small treasure at the end!
We will also be offering the PADI Underwater Navigation Specialty to anyone interested at this event. (There is a fee and multiple dives plus bookwork that will need to be completed.)
After the dive, let’s chat with fellow divers and hear what you thought of the fun treasure hunt course. Some snacks will be provided, and you are welcome to bring a snack to share if you’d like.
Please contact Johanas Kile, (503.551.9448 or jkile1972@gmail.com) if you plan to attend and complete the navigation course or if you are interested in the Specialty so that he can plan accordingly.
Event will start around 9 a.m. with full obstacle course planned for 1 p.m.
Three dives required for Underwater Navigation Specialty
Cost of Specialty – $300.00
