Join Bruce Weitzenhoffer, our PADI, Gold-Level Course Director, for your PADI OWSI Course. Bruce has extensive cold-water experience, more than 15,000 dives, and vast experience teaching and diving all over the world. Interested in living, diving and working in often challenging conditions? Become an instructor in the environment where you’ll teach. Even if you are planning to spend time in the tropics – the skills you learn here, in cold water, will serve you well anywhere in the world!

This is a two-part program – the Assistant Instructor (AI) Course, and the Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) Course. This is designed for candidates who are already EFR Instructors, or the equivalent.

  • Course will be conducted during the TOTAL PACKAGE IDC
  • IDC 18 SEP – 02 OCT (specific dates TBD)
  • PADI Instructor Exam 04/05 OCT at PADI HQ

DESCRIPTION:

Here at Salem Scuba, we schedule our OWSI Course to be both efficient and thorough to seamlessly synch with the two-day PADI Instructor Exam (IE) administered by PADI Staff typically scheduled for the weekend immediately following the completion of our Course. This timeline reinforces mastery retention of knowledge and skills to best prepare you for success at the IE and when teaching. As an additional option, you can add a one-day IDC Prep Program that demystifies how to navigate through the PADI materials, reviews some of the more challenging Dive Theory topics, and includes a Skill Circuit Confined Water Session.
